My name is Matthew McCarthy and I’m a sophomore at Boston Latin School. I take the 19 bus from Gallivan Boulevard to school every morning. The bus usually departs around the same time everyday however, it sometimes comes extremely late and very rarely doesn’t show up. My commute is typically longer than most students because the bus route has stops at Boston Latin Academy and John O’Bryant School and many MBTA stations such as Fields Corner and Dudley Square, and the bus is for the most part is loud and crowded. Once the 19 drops off the Boston Latin Academy students, there is lots of commotion and people coming in and out. Going home I take the 22 to Ashmont Station. This bus route takes nearly a hour to come home. The 22 has not shown up to school many times which results in me taking the 21 which takes much longer. The 22 also stops as well in public MBTA stations in places such as Jackson Square which tends to crowd the bus. Overall I am satisfied with the MBTA transportation, however there are areas and routes they are needed to improve upon
